5th and 6th graders on a clean up mission at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, CA

Part of what makes Rancho Encinitas Academy and Edison Academy so special is the environmentally conscious ideas we promote at the school.  Students are taught to care for and respect their community with service learning projects such as beach clean ups.  Rancho Encinitas Academy is situated a mile and half from Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, one of North County’s most family friendly state beaches.  By allowing students to get involved and become an integral part of making sure our beaches stay clean through service learning, they internalize personal responsibility and are able to make positive changes to their community.    moonlight beach 2Thanks to Kristen Edwards and her 5th and 6th graders for their service.
